Abstrakt:
Mama i madapolam. O Felce Ignacego Dąbrowskiego
Artykuł stanowi interpretację utworu Ignacego Dąbrowskiego Felka – noweli w formie listów młodej szwaczki do matki. W kolejnych listach bohaterka opowiada matce o trudach pracy, a zwłaszcza o poznaniu mężczyzny, który następnie ją porzucił. Autor artykułu koncentruje się głównie na dwóch tematach: roli matki w życiu młodej dziewczyny oraz funkcji ubrań. Matka, pozornie przyjaciółka córki, okazuje się matką dyscyplinującą, której prawa należy bezwzględnie przestrzegać. Natomiast świat ubrań to przestrzeń bezpieczna, w jakiej młoda szwaczka dobrze się czuje, bo – w przeciwieństwie do swojego życia – panuje nad materiałem.

Abstract:
Mom and Madapollam. On Felka by Ignacy Dąbrowski
This article is an interpretation of Ignacy Dąbrowski’s work Felka, a novella in the form of letters from a young seamstress to her mother. In the letters that follow, the heroine tells her mother about the hardships of her work and, in particular, about meeting a man who later cast her aside. The author of the article focuses mainly on two topics: the role of the mother in the young girl’s life and the function of clothes. The mother, ostensibly the daughter’s friend, turns out to be a disciplining mother whose laws must be strictly obeyed. The world of clothes, on the other hand, is a safe space in which the young seamstress feels at ease, because – unlike in her life – she is in control of the material.
