Filozofia niemożliwa. Jolanta Brach-Czaina, akademia i dół materialno-cielesny

This text is a humorous, literary-philosophical reflection on childbirth, the postpartum period and parenthood as experiences undermining the established Western ways of treating subjectivity and questioning the traditional way of practicing philosophy. Following Jolanta Brach-Czaina, the author looks at the literal and metaphorical power of the lower half of the body, despised by philosophers. Attempting to answer the question about the sources of vitality and humor in Brach-Czaina’s texts, she draws an analogy between her image of the uterus and the Bakhtinian concept of the “material ” in François Rabelais’ novel.
