Abstrakt:
Action Anthropology i „teach-ins”. Kontrkulturowe konferencje antropologów w latach 60. XX wieku
W latach 60. XX wieku antropologia amerykańska była dyscypliną zaangażowaną społecznie i bliską ideałom kontrkultury. Dwoma przykładami tej bliskości są innowacyjne formaty konferencji: American Indian Chicago Conference, zorganizowana przez Sola Taxa oraz idea „teach-ins” Marshalla Sahlinsa, praktykowana na większości zrewoltowanych uniwersytetów. Pierwsze z tych wydarzeń stało się kamieniem milowym dla ruchu samostanowienia rdzennej ludności USA. Drugie natomiast dokonało głębokiego przeobrażenia w myśleniu o uniwersytetach, relacjach wykładowca-student oraz publicznym znaczeniu uczelni wyższych. W zakończeniu artykułu postaram się odpowiedzieć na pytanie o dziedzictwo tych kontrkulturowych innowacji na świecie i w Polsce.

Abstract:
Action Anthropology and “Teach-ins.” Countercultural Conferences of Anthro- pologists in the 1960s
In the 1960s, American anthropology was a socially engaged discipline close to the ideals of the counterculture. Two examples of this closeness are the innovative conference formats: The American Indian Chicago Conference, organized by Sola Taxa, and Marshall Sahlins’ idea of “teach-ins,” practiced at most rebellious universities. The first of these events became a milestone for the Native American self- determination movement. The second, on the other hand, effected a profound transformation in thinking about universities, faculty-student relations, and the public importance of colleges and universities. In the conclusion of the article, I will try to answer the question about the legacy of these countercultural innovations in the world and in Poland.
