Abstrakt:
Postawy, nie pokolenia. Fantazje o młodości i nowatorstwie a presje systemowe w polskiej akademii
Celem tekstu jest rozprawienie się z iluzją zmiany pokoleniowej jako sposobu na samoistną poprawę stanu akademii. Zdaniem autorów radykalne nowatorstwo nie jest koniecznym elementem młodości, lecz często stanowi wynik ulegania niewidocznym presjom oraz wymogom stawianym młodym badaczom i badaczkom. W związku z tym należy zachować więcej dystansu względem pojawiających się w akademii — zwłaszcza w humanistyce — nowości: zwrotów, przełomów, nowych paradygmatów. Fetysz nowości prowadzi do urzeczowienia pracy intelektualnej w akademii, a w rezultacie do pozorowania nowatorstwa wyłącznie w celu rozwoju własnej kariery naukowej. Argumentacja zostanie rozwinięta poprzez analizę strukturalnych uwarunkowań produkcji wiedzy w ramach popularnych zwrotów w humanistyce ostatnich dekad.

Abstract:
Against the Praise of Youth: The Fetish of Novelty in Contemporary Humanities and Its Influence on the Careers of Young Researchers?
This text aims to dispel the misconception that generational change inherently leads to improvements in academia. The authors argue that radical innovation is not a natural trait of youth; rather, it often arises from the invisible pressures and demands placed on young researchers. Therefore, it is important to maintain distance from new trends emerging in academia, particularly in the humanities – such as turns, breakthroughs, and paradigm changes. The fetishization of novelty can lead to the reification of intellectual work, resulting in a focus on innovation primarily for the sake of advancing one’s academic career. This argument will be further developed through an analysis of the structural conditions influencing knowledge production within the popular turns in the humanities over the past few decades.
