Abstrakt:
Między wrzawą a ciszą. Strategie na rzecz wyciszenia w najliczniej odwiedzanych muzeach sztuki a ewolucja społecznych ról zwiedzających
Artykuł podejmuje problematykę wyciszenia w muzeum w powiązaniu ze zmieniającą się rolą zwiedzającego oraz zmianami oczekiwanych sposobów zachowania w instytucji ekspozycyjnej. Refleksji poddano działania muzeów sztuki sprzyjające wyciszonemu obcowaniu z artefaktami z perspektywy teorii ról społecznych i założeń nowej muzeologii. Ta ostatnia postuluje uczynienie muzeum przestrzenią inkluzywną, dynamiczną, ale i otwartą na potrzeby odbiorców poszukujących wyciszenia. Na podstawie analizy treści dokumentów muzealnych oraz prowadzonej w nich obserwacji uczestniczącej omówiono strategie wybranych najczęściej odwiedzanych muzeów świata i wyróżniono cztery typy ról zwiedzających.

Abstract:
Between Clamor and Silence. Strategies for Reducing Noise in the Most Visited Art Museums and the Evolution of the Social Roles of Visitors
The article discusses the importance of reducing noise in museums, focusing on the evolving role of visitors and the expected behavior within exhibition spaces. It examines the initiatives of art museums that encourage quiet interactions with artifacts, using the lens of social role theory and the principles of new museology. New museology advocates for museums to be inclusive and dynamic spaces that cater to the needs of visitors who seek a tranquil environment. Through an analysis of museum documents and participant observations, the article explores the strategies of some of the world’s most-visited museums and identifies four distinct types of visitor roles.
