Abstrakt:
Mit Androgyne i idea niebinarności. O końcach płci w literaturze przełomu wieków
Artykuł, zestawiając wybrane teksty literackie początku XX wieku (S. Przybyszewskiego, M. Komornickiej / P. Odmieńca Własta, R. Hall, V. Woolf) ze współczesnymi powieściami Marieke Lucas/a Rijneveld/a oraz Anouk Herman, koncentruje się na wskazaniu podobieństw (oraz różnic) pomiędzy charakterystycznymi dla swoich czasów pojęciami
androgynii i niebinarności. Analizując kreacje osób bohaterskich wymienionych utworów w kontekście dyskursu (o) płci/płciowości (J. Butler, P.B. Preciado), pokazuje, jak zostały one spozycjonowane względem nie/binarności, w tym także popularnego na przełomie XIX i XX stulecia mitu Androgyne.

Abstract:
The Myth of Androgyne and the Idea of Non-Binarity. On the Ends of Gender in Turn-of-the-Century Literature
By juxtaposing selected early twentieth-century literary texts (S. Przybyszewski, M. Komornicka / P. Odmieniec Włast, R. Hall, V. Woolf) with contemporary novels by Marieke Lucas Rijneveld/a and Anouk Herman, this article focuses on identifying the similarities (and differences) between the concepts of androgyny and non-binary identity, each characteristic of its respective period. Through an analysis of the representation of characters in these works in the context of discourses on gender/sexuality (J. Butler, P.B. Preciado), it demonstrates how they were positioned in relation to non/binarity, including through the myth of the Androgyne, which gained popularity at the turn of the 20th century.
