Abstrakt:
Gdzie się podziały tamte prywatki? Przebieranki w PRL-u na przykładzie wspomnień Lulli La Polaca i Ryszarda Kisiela
Tekst podejmuje temat przebieranek w PRL-u na podstawie świadectw Lulli La Polaca i Ryszarda Kisiela – analizuje, w jaki sposób opowiadają o swoich doświadczeniach związanych z przebierankami z perspektywy czasu, konfrontując te relacje z dominującymi wówczas narracjami o cross-dressingu w kulturze oficjalnej. Poruszona jest kwestia prywatnych archiwów, analizując obiegi, w jakich funkcjonowała działalność Lulli i Kisiela, oraz sposoby, w jakie ich osobiste narracje trafiły do szerszego obiegu. Refleksji poddano również włączanie queerowych historii osobistych do polskiej historiografii, trudność w jednoznacznym zdefiniowaniu queerowych praktyk oraz pytanie, czy przebieranki mogą być utożsamiane z dragiem.

Where Have All the House Parties Gone? Cross-Dressing in the PRL Based on the Memoirs of Lulla La Polaca and Ryszard Kisiel
This text explores the topic of cross-dressing in the Polish People’s Republic based on the testimonies of Lulla La Polaca and Ryszard Kisiel. It analyzes how they talk about their experiences of cross-dressing in retrospect, confronting these accounts with the dominant narratives on this subject in official culture at the time. The discussion also touches on the issue of private archives, exploring the contexts in which Lulla and Kisiel’s activities took place and how their personal stories entered the wider public consciousness. Additionally, the text considers the inclusion of queer personal histories in Polish historiography, the challenges of clearly defining queer practices, and whether cross-dressing should be equated with drag.
